The first step is to call Classic Smiles Dentistry and schedule an appointment. During your first visit, our hygienist will do a professional teeth cleaning. This procedure consists of scraping off built up plaque and tartar that’s collected above and below the gum line. If necessary, the hygienist will also floss between and around every tooth to remove any plaque or food particles that are clinging on. Next, using a tooth polisher, with a spinning head and slightly abrasive paste, the hygienist will get rid of any residue that was previously missed.

Oral Cancer Screening

At Classic Smiles Dentistry, we understand the importance of early detection of cancerous or precancerous conditions for our patients. According to the American Dental Association (ADA), it is highly recommended that an oral cancer screening be completed during your first visit. The examination is performed at our office by our qualified dentist who will look for signs of cancer or precancerous conditions in your mouth. During your exam, you will be asked questions regarding any changes in your medical history and whether you are experiencing any new or unusual symptoms.

Digital X-rays

Digital X-rays is a better alternative to traditional x-rays. Our office can get an accurate image of your teeth and oral structures without exposing you to unnecessary radiation. The images are readily available, and transferred to a computer screen where the dentist can show you just what’s going on inside your mouth. Digital x-rays are a safer, faster, and a more effective method of radiography, and because the images are digital, it’s more environmentally friendly.
